When I first saw this item in the news I said whoa that sounds bad. [tag-tec]Al Gore [/tag-tec]signing up to promote green business venture capital. But like many things on first impression it is good to dig into the details.
Former Vice President and Nobel prize winner Al Gore has signed on to join Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Venture Capital as a partner. So you say wow is he going to be making big bucks to promote companies that will bring out solutions to global warming? Nope, Gore says he will donate all of his salary to Alliance for Climate Protection, the Palo Alto-based nonprofit he chairs that advocates for policies to fight global warming.
“We are calling out to all the innovators and technologists and inventors to send us the best ideas they have,” he said.
Gore has taken on the challenge of not only pushing the cause with his movie and his tireless promotion of solving global warming but now seems to be staking his career on it as well. In my opinion this is far better than having him run for President again and have to clean up our oil war for four years and never get anything done on the global warming front.
[tag]Green business[/tag] may just be about to hit the stratosphere. Entrepreneurs be on the alert. Now is the time to jump into this business arena.
