Talk about a ground swell. Bio diesel is getting noticed everywhere these days, of course it doesn’t hurt to have a few famous people out trumping the cause. [the short list, sorry if I left anyone off- Willie Nelson, Daryl Hannah , Melissa Etheridge, Mandy Moore, Woody Harrelson, and more]
Today the SF Chronicle had a big front page article on the spreading acceptance of biodiesel. The mainstream media now wakes up to what is sweeping the nation in a somewhat grassroots movement.
In the article they detail how the users of biodiesel are growing and the number of places you can fill up your tank or tanks are sprouting up around the Bay Area. It is funny but I would bet that only a year ago most of the places that they talk about were serving a couple people a day and now this year they have lines and a real business in place.
In fact they even detail how to make your own biodiesel at home. Amazing. Jay Talton has been pushing this idea for awhile now but today you can read about it in a major newspaper.
“A lot of our customers switched to biodiesel because of the war,” she said. “That’s probably common in the Bay Area, but across the country, it’s probably because of concern about climate change and renewable energy. And that it’s so cool.”

Now this energy source is not the big time solution to this countries energy woes. It does help on a local scale but for now to really drive all the country’s cars on it a would take too much bio fuel. For now though it is good to be using up all that excess oil from restaurants…..
