Leading Residential Solar Company Announces Professional Baseball Partnership to BringAffordable Solar Energy to Homeowners
Sunrun (Nasdaq: RUN), the largest dedicated residential solar company in the United States, today announced a multi-year agreement with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Sunrun designs, installs, finances, insures, monitors and maintains solar systems on a homeowner’s roof, while families pay just for the electricity at a lower rate than their current utility.
“We’re excited to expand our portfolio of professional sports partnerships by serving as an official residential solar company of the National League West champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers,” said Michael Grasso, Sunrun’s chief marketing officer. “We look forward to showing more families in Los Angeles and across the country that they can power their homes with cleaner, cheaper electricity generated by a customized home solar system from Sunrun.”
The partnership furthers Sunrun’s strategy of reaching more Americans to educate them about the benefits of home solar. Sunrun unveiled digital and stationary signage at Dodger Stadium during the 2015 season and offered a variety of in-stadium experiences – like serving as the presenting sponsor for ‘Kids Take the Field’– to encourage families to save 20 percent on their electric bill.
“The Dodgers are always looking to partner with progressive and forward-thinking companies and we are excited to partner with a leader in the solar energy industry,” said Michael Young, senior vice president of corporate partnerships for the Los Angeles Dodgers. “We’re pleased that through this partnership, our fans will be educated on the benefits of using solar power for their homes and also be encouraged to be more environmentally responsible.”
As the first company to introduce solar as a service to American homeowners, Sunrun has reinvented the way people buy electricity. Sunrun gives homeowners access to the smartest energy source – sunlight – and takes care of everything so consumers can focus on putting savings back in their pockets each month.
