The “Jøtul Changeout Program” provides customers the opportunity to trade in an outdated, non-EPA-certified, polluting stove or wood-burning insert in exchange for a voucher valued at up to $300 toward the purchase of a new EPA-certified Jøtul wood stove, wood-burning insert, gas stove or gas insert. Jøtul has one of the largest selections of cast iron wood and gas stoves in the world and customers participating in the program can use their voucher on any current model.
Non-EPA stoves that are exchanged during the Jøtul Changeout Program will be rendered unusable and recycled. Old stoves can be dropped off at participating dealers or at local recycling centers. In addition, Jøtul is working with a number of dealers throughout North America and Canada that will serve as drop-off points during the Program.
Adding to the discount in the US, a biomass tax credit is also available to customers who purchase an EPA-certified wood-burning stove or insert during the Jøtul Changeout Program.
Jøtul has also announced that for each purchase made during the Program the company will make a donation to the American Lung Association.
EPA-certified wood stoves emit approximately 70 percent less pollution than older conventional stoves, and owners who make the change from a non-EPA stove can directly impact their local air quality. In addition to being environmentally friendly, EPA-certified stoves can be 50 percent more efficient and burn up to 1/3 less wood than older models.
